Lindsay MacAusland RVN,MBVNA, C-SQP, LCGI
Lindsay joined Avondale Veterianry Group in 2004 as Head veterinary Nurse, after working in various small animal practices for over 19 years, qualifying in 2003. Lindsay is also a qualified Pet Health Care Counsellor, Pet Insurance advisor, Animal Medicines SQP and City & Guilds qualified in Veterinary Nursing. Lindsay enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing especially Medicine and Critical Care and will be undertaking the Feline Advance Bureau Advanced award in Feline Nursing in 2012. When not working Lindsay enjoys time with her dog,cat, family and friends.

Vari Higgins C-SQP, RVN, MBVNA
Vari qualified in 2003 after working for 7 years in her first practice. She travelled to New Zealand where she worked in a mixed animal practice for a year and gained valuable experience before coming to Strathaven on 2007. Vari is a qualified Pet Health Counsellor, Pet Insurance Advisor and AMTRA SQP. Her interests are surgical nursing and geriatric care. Outside work she likes to spend time with her family, friends and her Yorkshire terrier.

Lindy Coleman RVN, MBVNA, A1 Assessor
Lindy qualified in 2006. Lindy worked for the PDSA for 6years and worked for Vets Now in emergency critical care. Lindy is interested in rehabilitation therapy, post-opertaive care, arthritis and pain management. Her interests include running, the gym and pole dancing. Lindy has 2 cats and a dog.

Jennifer Martin
Jennifer joined Avondale Veterinary Group in 2009 as our student animal nursing assistant (ANA). She provides help and support to the vets and nursing staff and also assists owners managing their pets. She previously worked as an ANA for 3 years gaining valuable experience in other practices before taking time out to have a family. Outside work she likes to spend time with her family and has a keen interest in guinea pigs, small mammals and enjoys horse riding.

Nick Friend
Nick qualified in 2010 from Houghall College with triple distinction in Animal Management. During this time at college he also gained valuable experience in lambings and calvings.
Since Houghall College Nick has worked as a small animal nursing assistant in a practice in Hartlepool before joing Avondale Veterinary Group in April 2011 where he hopes to sart his student veterinary nurse training in 2012. Nick’s clinical interests are laboratory work and the variety of nurse clinics held at the practice. Outside work Nick enjoys outdoor sports.

Sarah Little
Sarah has been working as an animal nursing assistant since 2008 after taking an interest in the career during work experience in 2005.
Sarah joined Avondale Vet Group in April 2011.Sarah enjoys working with animals of all shapes and sizes. Sarah’s hobbies include drawing, reading and walking her 2 cocker spaniels.

Marion Ball, Student Veterinary Nurse
Marion is studying the level 3 Diploma in Veterinary nursing at The College of Animal Welfare in Edinburgh. Marion has 2 border collie dogs, two horses and a cat. In her spare time she enjoys helping on her grandparent’s farm and horse riding.
